Start with the process, then the mechanism
Write down your material’s required temperature and duration before choosing between these models. Easdry’s 65°C ceiling may be enough for that exact process; a larger maximum has no automatic value if it will not be used. If the instructions require a temperature above that ceiling, the 80°C Polyphemus selection can remain on the shortlist, subject to reel limits.
Count reels and measure them
Easdry lists a single reel below 220 mm diameter and 72 mm width, with an inner opening above 50 mm. Polyphemus lists two reels up to 210 × 80 mm each or one up to 210 × 170 mm in its standard arrangement. These are different fit rules, not a universal promise about every one-kilogram reel. Check any larger-spool extension as its own configuration.
Rotation is a feature to investigate
Polyphemus uses motorized reel rotation. That gives it a distinctive mechanism, but we have not measured its effect on drying speed or temperature variation. Treat uniformity claims as manufacturer claims until supported by an independent test with sensor locations, load and conditions documented. Rotation and two spool positions also do not create two independently controlled temperatures.
Verify the variant and the whole cost
The Polyphemus page offers 70°C and 80°C variants. Select the 80°C option to match this comparison and check the regional power version. Include an extension only if your actual reels need it. Easdry’s page contains differing power figures, so use measured cycle energy in a cost comparison instead of presenting a heater rating as continuous consumption. Tetras is a separate AMS add-on and should not be bought as an equivalent standalone box.
