Sovol comparison

Sovol SH02 vs SH03: two spools or two zones?

SH03 changes the batch arrangement as well as the maximum temperature. Match that change to your real printing queue.

When SH02 is sufficient

A shared two-reel batch can be a practical fit when both reels use the same permitted temperature and duration. SH02’s lower documented setting is 40°C; SH03 starts at 45°C. Check both ends of the range against your exact filament instructions. A product with a higher maximum is not automatically the better fit for a lower-temperature process.

When SH03 adds useful flexibility

SH03 offers two independently controlled chambers and four nominal spool positions. This matters when two groups require separate schedules or when a larger compatible batch saves repeated loading. Sovol specifies four reels up to 70 mm wide each, or two up to 150 mm wide. Check diameter and the complete envelope too; spool weight alone does not tell you whether a reel fits.

Separate the display from the working range

SH03’s specification distinguishes a 0–99°C display range from 45–85°C working temperatures. Use the working range when choosing a dryer. A screen’s ability to display a number is not a promise that the equipment can select and hold that temperature. In either model, displayed humidity describes the sensor location, not a direct measurement of water remaining in the filament.

Do not turn ratings into drying or electricity claims

The SH02 page’s heat-up statement is not a complete filament-drying time. Likewise, SH03’s 400W rating is not continuous average consumption; some lower-page heater wording also conflicts with that specification. Compare energy using a recorded complete cycle or an explicitly labelled assumption. Delivered price, local support and the batch arrangement can then be considered together.
